Mail printed registration forms by November 20th, 2013 to:        HFS Race, C/O  John Dudas,  1757 Highland Blvd, unit 12,  Bozeman MT 59715.
Options to register:

1) You can register online now by clicking the appropriate link above. Parents can register children online for the Kids' Run. The Kids' Run remains FREE with a canned food donation (online transaction fee may apply). Online registration closes Monday, November 25th at 6:00 pm.   Note: be cautious about not accidentally joining any membership programs for which you are disinterested.

 

 2) Print and mail Registration Form by clicking the appropriate link above. Submit completed form by mailing to the address above. Mail-in registrations must be postmarked by November 20th.

   

3) Pick up event registration brochures at Schnee's Boots & Shoes, Museum of the Rockies, Gallatin Valley Food Bank, and various other locations around Bozeman. Submit completed form by mailing to the address above on or before November 20th.

 

 4) Register in person during Packet Pickup and Event Expo at the Best Western GranTree Inn (1325 N 7th) from  Tuesday, November 26 to Wednesday, November 27 between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm. Check out our sponsors' booths at the Event Expo.

   

5) Race Day Registration at the Museum of the Rockies is available from 7:00 am to 8:30 am. Come early!

 

Cost of events:

5K,  Untimed 5K Fun Run/Walk  &  10K cost $20 before Thanksgiving Day. Race day registration costs $25. Make checks payable to: Big Sky Wind Drinkers (BSWD).

The Kids' Run is FREE with a canned food donation brought to the event. Children 12 years and younger run 1K with the costumed turkeys! All children will receive a special prize from our sponsors! All children must be registered. On-line registration is available for the Kids' Run (online transaction fee may apply).

 

Note: Children under 12 years are eligible to participate in any of the other three events for the cost of $20 and with consent of, and while being accompanied by a guardian.

Prize Drawings:

Two chances to win a special prize drawing from our sponsors!   1) Register online. Everyone who does will be entered to win.   2) Refer your family & friends who have not run Huffing For Stuffing before! Everyone who refers at least two people to register who have not run with us before will be entered to win! If you haven't run with us before - refer yourself! More newbie referrals means more of a chance to win! Winners will be announced during Awards Ceremony after the races.

 
Your Registration Fee for 5K, Untimed 5K Fun Run/Walk & 10K includes:
  • The satisfaction of participating in our sixth annual event to benefit the Gallatin Valley Food Bank! Community, family and fun: what better way to spend Thanksgiving morning? Thank you for helping HFS raise $142,700 for our Food Bank during the past six years!

  • A terrific micro-fiber shirt for the first 3,000 people to register. Women can choose between a fitted shirt or unisex style shirt. Don't assume shirts will be available by Thanksgiving. Register early!

  • Access to the Event Expo at the Best Western GranTree Inn during packet pickup. Enjoy the presenter lectures, browsing and sampling our sponsors' fine products and services along with fun people watching!

  • Runner's Packet doubles as re-usable grocery bag from Rosauers with race number, timing chip and all kinds of fun inserts from our sponsors. Where else might you find such an incredible value for your $20 registration fee?

  • Chip timing race results (net-time scoring). Results will be posted soon after races. Official results will be published in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle and on this website.  

  • Your choice of events to participate in: race in the 5K or 10K, participate in the Untimed 5K Fun Run/Walk, or the Kids' Run. Also, Team Registration is available for these events. Join up with your friends, family and co-workers to participate as a team! At least 5 members per team. See the FAQ page for details.

  • Water and aid stations on the course. See race course maps (click here).

  • Pre and post-race refreshments: warm drinks, fruit, muffins and tasty snacks. Stay warm and socialize inside our heated tents.

  • Raffle for lots of terrific prizes from our sponsors. Visit the Prize Table to see the list of winners and claim prizes.

  • Prize for participants who "Smoke the Turkey" (male & female) in the 5K!

  • Great hand-crafted pottery awards for winners! Expanded age group divisions again this year. See below for the list of divisions - 120 individual awards total! Also, Team awards for fastest in the 5K and 10K and team with the most members overall.

  • American Medical Response EMTs on site at the Start/Finish Line and safety patrollers along the courses.

Note: Runners racing in the 5K will wear a red race bib and will start at 9:15am. Participants in the Untimed 5K Fun Run/Walk event will wear a yellow race bib and will have their own official start as soon as all participants racing in the timed 5K race have cleared the starting line area shortly after 9:15am. As a result, participants in the Untimed 5K Run Run/Walk should line up at the back of the field behind the 5K runners as a courtesy to these participants who are racing the 5K race. Be sure that you are lining up to start in your correct event and that you are among fellow participants with the same color race bib!

 

No unregistered participants, dogs, roller blades, or bikes on the race course! Strollers are permitted to start at the back of the field. Event organizers discourage but do not prohibit the use of headphones. No refunds or transfers. It's a fund-raiser!

 

Please thoroughly review the waiver of liability at the bottom of this page.  All participants must accept and sign this waiver of liability on the Registration Form in order participate in Huffing For Stuffing '13.

  • Age: 8 and under, top 3
  • Age: 9 - 12, top 3
  • Age: 13 - 17, top 3
  • Age: 18 - 29, top 3
  • Age: 30 - 39, top 3
  • Age: 40 - 49, top 3
  • Age: 50 - 59, top 3
  • Age: 60 - 69, top 3
  • Age: 70 and up, top 3
  • Clydesdale (male: 200+ lb; optional election for eligible participants), top 3
  • Athena (female: 150+ lbs; optional election for eligible participants), top 3

Note: Awards are non-duplicative (overall race winners will not also win age-group awards). Overall race winners are based on gun time (first to cross the finish line). Age group winners are based on chip time, regardless of whom crosses the finish line first.

Event Participant Waiver Agreement and Release: By registering for the 2013 Huffing For Stuffing Thanksgiving Day Run and signing this waiver you agree, warrant and covenant as follows:  I know that participating in a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I am in adequate physical, mental and medical condition to participate in this event. In consideration of acceptance of my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release, HFS event directors, BSWD, event sponsors, Montana State University, Museum of the Rockies, Race Volunteers, Race Officials, CCR Timing, State of Montana, Gallatin County, City of Bozeman and all persons & organizations affiliated with the Huffing For Stuffing Thanksgiving Day Run from any and all liability arising from illness, injuries, damages and even death I may suffer as a result of my participating in this event. I grant permission for all of the foregoing to use any photographs, motion pictures, videos and recordings of this event for any legitimate purpose. I understand that entry fees are non-refundable. I understand that dogs, bikes and rollerblades are not permitted on the event course. I have read and agree to abide by the conditions of this waiver.
